We had some used timber left over after a house (deconstruction and) re-model and Dh wanted to re-use it. Not being a super duper carpenter we discovered this goods and he used it to make a great picnic set for our yard. I stained and varnished it. I see it persisting for years as there is no wood touching the ground to rot.
The color of the plastic is a sort of beige/gray - I would not call it 'sand'. Maybe sand is a distinct color where I come from...?
